Spiritual Cleansing: A Handbook of Psychic Protection by Draka Mickaharic is a little book that promises and delivers. It provides a simple list of folk-style purifications and remedies. Clearly the book’s target audience are those who wish to take better spiritual care of themselves with manageable and simple practices. Author Mickaharic presents the information in a very fluid manner and manages to cohesively bring together cleansings from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds.
The book opens with a discussion of the spiritual part of man and addresses the uninitiated who are seeking extension beyond the bounds of the purely physical. This section introduces the reader to thinking about healing beyond the material plane. The author then discusses psychic attacks and defense techniques in various chapters on such topics as the history of the evil eye, and self protection during sleep.Much of Spiritual Cleansing consists of rituals for cleansing and quieting using various methods. The author presents several cleansing, protection, spell baths and cleansings by water utilizing a range of materials from beer to hyssop, and cinnamon to holy water. Also provided are chapters covering cleansing of the inner self or a physical space using eggs and incenses.
This book is a small, well-written set of ritual cleansings. If you are interested in using herb baths, incense mixes, and small rituals to perform basic astral and spiritual maintenance, then this book would be of great value to you.
